Greater Memphis IT Council Community Outreach Initiatives
The Council supports a number of economic development and philanthropic efforts in the Memphis region. The following are areas of focus for community outreach:

- Maxine Smith STEAM Academy – Shelby County Schools optional program in collaboration with Christian Brothers University for science, technology, engineering, arts and math with a focus on experiential learning.
- Shelby County Schools IT Curriculum Advisory Group - Participation in the SCS Strategic Planning for IT Curriculum by the Greater Memphis IT Council Workforce Development Committee.
- SCS Summer Program for Internships and Externships – Collaboration with Greater Memphis IT Council Workforce Development Committee and Shelby County Schools Career Training and Education to provide summer internships for rising Juniors and Seniors and externships for teachers in the Business IT division in twelve Shelby County Schools.
- T-STEM Academy - East High School - Support for the STEM Continuum from Maxine Smith STEAM Academy Middle School with progression to the T-STEM Academy as it progresses from 2017 to 2020 for a complete STEM program from 9th to 12th grade.
